I made some cookies for a baby shower that a friend of mine attended this past weekend. I’m really loving the color of these. This springtime weather we are having lately is very fitting for the pastel spring-like colors!
I hadn’t broken out my sailboat cookie cutter in probably 5+ years, so that was a fun one to make. The teddy bears are easily one of my all-time favorites. I made half the bears with the solid brown flood icing and the other half with different designs using all of the colors in the batch. I know some people don’t like a ton of icing on their cookies, and it’s also fun to play with different designs.
I’m really happy with how they turned out and it sounds like they were a hit at the party! Thank you, Jennifer! I am already working on my next couple of orders, so you will be seeing those soon. I will be making some for a St. Patty’s Day birthday and also some for Easter.
I used Etsy to find a graphic designer who was able to turn around a logo design in 48hrs at a very reasonable price. I LOVE it! You should check out her shop! https://www.etsy.com/shop/StyleGraphicDesign
I was fortunate enough to be asked to make cookies for not only a bridal shower this past weekend, but also a cocktail party. I’ve done champagne glasses a few times now for a few different events, and tried out some beer mugs as well. This time, I got a request for both wine glasses and beer mugs. I hadn’t done wine glasses before, so so I was anxious to try it. These cookie favors are fun to do too. I think they look so cute individually wrapped. What do you think?
Phase 1 of the wine glasses – just need to add the wine!
These cookies were made for a cocktail party celebrating the wedding of a good friend of mine. She has been super supportive of me with all this cookie chaos the last few months, and I was really flattered that her family asked me to make them for her party.
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I will have more to post soon 🙂
I may not be a huge football fan, but Super Bowl Sunday is great for so many other reasons. One of which is… the food! Appetizers and desserts – my favorites! I decided to whip up some football cookies for the occasion and I even threw in a new recipe I just tried for the first time last week. Salted caramel chocolate chip cookies. What?! I know. Yes, they’re amazing. Check out the recipe. Very easy to make. Little tip – do not over-bake. They may seem a little soft at 10 minutes, but they’ll be fine after they sit on the pan for a couple minutes out of the oven.
I’d also like to point out that, as you can, I finally got some new pans! Williams Sonoma GoldTouch® Nonstick Cookie Sheets! I love them. They were a Christmas gift and they’ve made a big difference in my baking – everything cooks so evenly now. Nothing sticks to them. And they cool down so quickly. Highly recommend.
I hope everyone has a great Super Bowl Sunday! I can’t say that I care who wins, but I will be watching. And eating 🙂
My friends, Tera and Tom, are celebrating their 5 year anniversary of moving to Raleigh this weekend. They generously decided to throw a party to celebrate with their friends. They both have been very supportive of me and my cookie business since this started a few months ago, so I wanted to come up with something unique to make for their party.
So walk through this with me: Tera & Tom = TnT = dynamite/fireworks…..see what I did there? I tried to find a cookie cutter in the shape of a stick of dynamite. Not so sure that exists. BUT I did find something pretty close – a firecracker! And I threw in some stars with 5’s’ on them to commemorate the year.
I was really flattered by the response these got at the party. They were a hit and disappeared pretty quickly. I even saw people taking pictures of them and with them. The cookie nerd inside of me was smiling 🙂
I hope you enjoyed these! Thanks so much for stopping by and checking them out. I’m already working on the next batch – come back soon to check them out!
So, when I started this blog, I never thought in a million years that it would spark such an interest with my friends and family. I have been incredibly flattered and humbled by the response. You all will never truly know how much it has meant to me.
I thought it would be cute to get a piggy bank to store my “cookie dough”, get it? 😉 I stumbled upon an Etsy shop that featured custom hand-painted ceramic piggy banks. I emailed the shop owner and told her what I wanted one for and she was so sweet! I was really just looking for a baking theme. She not only visited my blog, but she painted the cookies from my posts all over the bank! It’s really special to me because I remember all of those batches – what event/who they were for. For example, the hot air balloon is a cookie I made for my nephew’s first birthday party. The engagement ring was from my very first blog post about my friends Rachel and Tyler.
Long story short, I love it!!! And I highly recommend her store! Thank you, Katie!
She put my name in the rolling pin – look closely!
I was asked to recreate the lighthouse in Harbour Town on Hilton Head Island for a very special occasion. I was flattered, and could definitely not say no. I have visited this lighthouse countless times in my life, as HHI is not only my favorite vacation spot, but I also was fortunate enough to live there for a few years.
I had to modify the cookies a bit once I cut them out of the dough because my lighthouse cookie cutter has a house on the bottom Good idea to keep in mind that you can always alter the shape of your cookie if your cookie cutter doesn’t match exactly what you’re looking for. Another example would be the diamond ring cookies. My cookie cutter doesn’t have a hole in the middle, so I used a separate circle cookie cutter to alter it.
So today was our Secret Santa gift exchange at work. You know I was hoping I would get someone who likes sugar cookies. I got double lucky – not only did I get someone who likes sugar cookies, but he’s a big fan of Disney, so I got to try out some new cookies! I have to admit, I struggled a bit on the first couple cookies. Luckily, when you screw up a cookie, the worst thing that happens is you get to eat an ugly cookie and try again. Destroy the evidence 😉
I decided to try out a real Mickey Mouse face on a few and go for some Christmas-themed Mickeys as well. I hope you like them!
